AMD has filled up its professional line of graphics cards with a new model: the AMD FirePro W8100. According to the manufacturer, the greenhorn is an optimal choice for computer-aided design, video editing, compositing, visualization, color grading, and computing tasks. The release is arranged for July, adding the variety of different versions from AMD partners, like Sapphire and others. AMD FirePro W8100 is based on AMD GCN 2.0 graphics core with 2560 stream processors and 40 cluster units. Memory subsystem comes up with 8 GB of GDDR5 chips, featuring 512-bit interface. Its data transfer bandwidth equals to 320 Gb/sec. Upon the whole, the peak efficiency of single-precision computations achieves 4.2 TFLOPS, whereas the peak efficiency of dual-precision computations makes up 2.1 TFLOPS.
